Erdogan to Hold Bilateral Talks With Putin, Rouhani at Summit in Tehran - Administration

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the Iran-Russia-Turkey summit on September 7, the Turkish presidential administration said in a statement on Thursday

ANKARA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th September, 2018) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the Iran-Russia-Turkey summit on September 7, the Turkish presidential administration said in a statement on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that Putin would hold separate meetings with his Turkish and Iranian counterparts, as well as with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the Tehran summit.

"Our president will hold bilateral talks with the presidents of Iran and Russia during the summit in Tehran, the leaders will discuss bilateral relations and current regional problems," the statement read.

The statement noted that the sides would also discuss joint efforts aimed at ensuring stability in Syria in the context of the mechanisms developed within the Astana process, as well as implementation of the decisions of the previous summit held in Ankara in April, further steps toward the Syrian settlement.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia, Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
