Pompeo will hold meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and COAS Bajwa
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 5th September, 2018) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived in Pakistan for high-level official meetings with leaders of the newly-elected government in Islamabad.
Pompeo's plane landed at Noor Khan airbase on Wednesday.
He will first go to the US embassy and then Foreign Office at 2pm where the delegation will hold formal negotiations with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his team.
Pompeo will also hold meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Pompeo is accompanied by US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Joseph Dunford, underscoring its counter-terrorism focus in engagements with South Asian partner.
