WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th September, 2018) Russia and China continue to create difficulties in the UN Security Council when it comes to resolving the North Korean issue, US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley said in a press conference on Tuesday.
Last week, Moscow and Beijing blocked the publication of a UN report on the implementation of sanctions against Pyongyang due to disagreements over particular findings.
"Russia and China continue to cause problems ... We are trying to release the report - they are trying to block it," Haley told reporters. "We have to make sure they know they are not exempt in relationship with North Korea."
Haley warned the United States would not hesitate to act if it sees any violations of the sanctions imposed against Pyongyang.
She added dialogue with North Korea is taking place, but it does not mean the international community is easing sanctions.
President Donald Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in are set to meet later this month in New York to talk about the developments on the Korean Peninsula. Haley said Washington and Seoul will continue work on denuclearizing North Korea during the meeting.
