Karachi (Pakistan Point News – 1st September, 2018) A hearing on the suo motu notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Imran Shah slapping a citizen was held in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry on Saturday.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar expressed anger towards Imran Shah.
“Is Imran Shah present? Come forward. I will talk to you. What were you thinking while slapping a citizen? Even animals are not treated this way,” the CJP said.
The CJP further said, “Why did you slap? Was he a human or an animal? This is an unforgivable crime. We won’t pardon you. You are the representative of people. Will you beat them like this?”
Continuing with the argument, CJP Nisar said, “I will come outside. Hit me like you hit that citizen.”
Feeling embarrassed, Imran Shah said, “Sorry sir, I am ashamed.”
The CJP replied, “What sorry? I had hit a servant with a belt in childhood. My father had also hit me for not learning my lesson.”
He went on to ask him, “How many times did you slap?” Imran Shah replied, “Four”.
The CJP said that you will also be slapped four times publicly.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had on August 18 taken notice of a video viral on social media showing physical assault by PTI MPA Imran Ali Shah on a citizen Daud Chauhan in Karachi.
Taking notice of the issue, the CJP had demanded a report from Imran Ali Shah and Daud Chauhan within three days.
