A dragnet operation is underway in the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk (DPR) to capture the perpetrators of the assassination of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, Eduard Basurin, the deputy commander of the DPR Operational Command, said Friday.
DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) A dragnet operation is underway in the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk (DPR) to capture the perpetrators of the assassination of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, Eduard Basurin, the deputy commander of the DPR Operational Command, said Friday.
Zakharchenko was killed in a bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk earlier in the day. The self-proclaimed republic's prosecutors launched a criminal investigation into the murder. The DPR authorities also said the attack on Zakharchenko was a terror act.
"A manhunt has been launched. Entry and exit roads in Donetsk have been blocked," Basurin told reporters.
