Donetsk prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into the murder of Alexander Zakharchenko, the leader of the self proclaimed republic in eastern Ukraine, a spokesman for DPR Prosecutor-General's Office told Sputnik on Friday.
DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st August, 2018) Donetsk prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into the murder of Alexander Zakharchenko, the leader of the self proclaimed republic in eastern Ukraine, a spokesman for DPR Prosecutor-General's Office told Sputnik on Friday.
Zakharchenko was killed in a staged bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk earlier in the day. DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Timofeev, who accompanied Zakharchenko, is in grave condition in a hospital.
"A criminal case has been opened under article "Terrorist Act." Urgent operational and investigative actions are being taken," the spokesman said.
