Akar and Shoigu also spoke about regional security matters, according to the Anadolu news agency.
The phone conversation follows a meeting between Shoigu and Akar in Moscow on August 24, which focused on the issues of regional security, bilateral defense industry cooperation, as well as the settlement of the situation in northwestern Syria.
