Russia Registers 27 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission on Syrian reconciliation has recorded 27 ceasefire violations in the Arab republic over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission on Syrian reconciliation has recorded 27 ceasefire violations in the Arab republic over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 27 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (10), Aleppo (15), Hama (2)," the ministry said in a daily bulletin, adding that Turkey registered two ceasefire breaches in the provinces of Aleppo and Hama.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Center for Syria's reconciliation conducted two humanitarian actions in Jub-al-Jarra of the Hama province and Tal-abu-Sousa of the Aleppo province.

The number of areas, which signed reconciliation agreements in Syria, stood at 2,518. The number of armed formations that have pledged to observe the ceasefire regime also remained the same � 234.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against the terrorist groups and by providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
