US Sends KC-135 Stratotanker to Czech Republic For 'Ample Strike' War Games - US Air Force

A US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft from the 155th Air Refuling Wing in the state of Nebraska has arrived Pardubice Air Base in the Czech Republic for a NATO military exercises, the US Air Force announced in a press release on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) A US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft from the 155th Air Refuling Wing in the state of Nebraska has arrived Pardubice Air Base in the Czech Republic for a NATO military exercises, the US Air Force announced in a press release on Tuesday.

"The KC-135 is scheduled to participate in Ample Strike, a Czech Republic-led exercise with aircraft and participants conducting day and night time operations out of the Czech Republic to improve NATO allies and partner nation interoperability," the release said.

About 300 international participants from 17 NATO allied and partner nations, plus nearly 1,000 members of the Czech armed forces will participate in the exercise, which runs until September 12, NATO reported in a recent press release.

The KC-135 replaced the propeller-powered KC-97 tankers beginning in 1956, when propeller-driven tankers could no longer keep up with jet fighters and bombers, the manufacturer Boeing explained on its website.
