Turkish, Russian Ministers Discuss Launch Of Turkish Space Agency - Reports

ANKARA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th August, 2018) Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Konstantin Noskov discussed on Friday the creation of the Turkish space agency, local media reported.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting in the northern Argentine city of Salta.

According to the Anadolu news agency, the dialogue focused on the Turkish space agency's launch and further space-related cooperation between the two countries.

Varank and Noskov also agreed to create a joint working group that would deal with issues related to information technologies and telecommunications, and discussed the boost of foreign investments in Turkey.

On August 7, Varank announced that the Turkish space agency would be launched by the end of 2018. The agency is set to contribute to enhancing international cooperation on space-related issues. Corresponding member of the Russian academy of Cosmonautics Andrei Ionin voiced his confidence that Turkey would benefit most from cooperation with Russia and China.
