US Waives Safety Of Flight, Space Flight From New Russia Sanctions - Federal Register

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th August, 2018) An unpublished notice in the US Federal Register details exemptions to the� sanctions the State Department will imposed on Russia on Monday, August 27 in connection with the nerve agent attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

"SPACE FLIGHT: Exports and reexports of goods or technology pursuant to new licenses in support of government space cooperation and commercial space launches, provided that such licenses shall be issued on a case-by-case basis, consistent with export licensing policy for Russia prior to enactment of these sanctions," the unpublished notice said on Friday. "SAFETY OF FLIGHT: Exports and reexports of goods or technology pursuant to new licenses necessary for the safety of flight of civil fixed-wing passenger aviation, provided that such licenses shall be issued on a case-by-case basis, consistent with export licensing policy for Russia prior to enactment of these sanctions."

Sanctions are also waived in cases of deemed exports/reexports, wholly-owned US subsidiaries, commercial end users and Russian state-owned or state-funded enterprises.

�Russia has repeatedly denied any role in the apparent attack on the Skripals and has offered its assistance to the United Kingdom as it investigates the incident.
