Dubai Economic Department launches Chinese language course for inspectors

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 16th Aug, 2018) The Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection, CCCP, sector in Dubai's Department of Economic Development, DED, has launched a Chinese language course for its inspectors in cooperation with the University of Dubai. The course will run from 9th August to 15th November, 2018.

The programme aims to enhance communication skills of DED staff and equip them to deal more efficiently with Chinese traders and consumers, particularly in commercial supervision and inspection as well as in protecting consumer rights.

Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of Development and Follow-up in CCCP, said, "The Chinese language programme was launched in line with the directives of our leadership in order to provide the necessary skills for our inspectors to perform their tasks with high quality and efficiency. The programme will equip the inspectors with the basics of Chinese language as well as on terminology related to commercial inspection, consumer protection and other CCCP functions."

The first programme will be held at the University of Dubai with a group of CCCP inspectors attending, offering 120 training hours.

Al Kaabi added that Chinese businesses and consumers constitute a large and growing share of DED customers.

"The Chinese language course is therefore aimed to improve overall customer satisfaction and service quality through empowering our employees to deal with the public in such a way that enhances happiness of our customers, particularly the Chinese speaking customers," he concluded.
