MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) The Western sanctions against Syria hamper its restoration, Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf said on Wednesday.
"Sanctions of Western countries against Syria limit the development of the country's economy, and hamper the quick restoration of its infrastructure," Makhlouf said at a meeting of the inter-agency coordination headquarters on refugees' return to Syria.
"The lifting of these sanctions will have a positive impact on the return of Syrian citizens home, and the distribution of financial resources allocated by the United Nations, primarily for the construction of schools, hospitals and other infrastructure, will become a source of hope for refugees and a powerful tool for preventing conflicts in the future," the minister stressed.
