Peshawar (Pakistan Point News – 13th August, 2018) The newly elected members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly have taken oath.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PMLN) MPA-elect Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha is presiding the provincial assembly session due to the absence of Speaker Asad Qaiser.

This is the 13th provincial assembly in the parliamentary history of the province since 1946.

In the 124-member House, 99 lawmakers are elected on general seats while 22 are reserved for women and three for minority communities.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has secured a two-third majority with the election of 84 members in the House of 124 and is all set to elect its chief minister-designate Mehmood Khan, speaker and deputy speaker smoothly.

The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal with 13 members is the second largest party in the assembly, followed by the Awami National Party with nine, PML-N six and the Pakistan People's Party five members.
