NA-131 votes to be recounted today

The process of recounting will be completed within three days and then final result will be declared.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th August, 2018) The Lahore High Court (LHC), while rejecting Imran Khan’s petition against vote recount, had ordered a recount in NA-131, Lahore.

The votes will be recounted todaya under the supervision of Returning Officer Muhammad Akhtar Bhangu.

The process of recounting will be completed within three days and final result will be declared.

Three hours following the decision, Saad Rafique questioned why the polling bags have not been sent to the RO yet.

“it has been three hours over frm scheduled re counting time the polling bags has not been sent to RO 131 by ECP till now wats wrong wth polling bags why the ecp has not sent the poling bags in time ..??”

The LHC had on Saturday stopped the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from issuing notification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's victory from NA-131.The court had also ordered a vote recount in the constituency.

Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh passed the orders while allowing a petition filed by runner up Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Khawaja Saad Rafique.

The former railways minister had lost to the PTI chief by a difference of 680 votes, receiving 83,633 votes against Imran Khan's 84,313.
