Back-channel contact been Imran Khan, Ch Nisar revealed

Imran Khan wants Ch Nisar to come to the Assembly after contesting in the by-election.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st August, 2018) There has been a back channel contact between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Media sources said that the two are in contact with each other. Imran Khan wants Ch Nisar to come to the Assembly after contesting in the by-election.

Both the leaders discussed the situation while Ch Nisar gave a positive response to Imran Khan.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has also contacted Ch Nisar. The PMLN has claimed that Ch Nisar has assured them of his support.

Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is likely to contest the by-election after PTI candidate Ghulam Sarwar Khan will leave one of his seats.

According to sources close to Ch Nisar, people around him are suggesting him to take part in the by-election and prove that the result of July 25 polling was not as per the aspirations of people.

Sources hinted that Ch Nisar will keep his provincial seat and will take an oath on it. However, it is expected that he will support Hamza Shahbaz for the chief minister of Punjab.

Ch Nisar, who contested as an independent candidate in the general elections from NA-59 and NA-63, lost to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to election results, Ch Nisar lost to PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan who got 89,055 votes in NA-59 while former interior minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan got 66,369 votes.

He lost to PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan in NA-63 as well. Ghulam Sarwar won with 64,301 votes while Ch Nisar stood second with 48,497 votes. PMLN’s Sardar Mumtaz Khan stood third with 22,475 votes.

Polling across the country was held on Wednesday, July 25, for general elections 2018.
