Imran Khan to retain Mianwali seat, Saad Rafique gets a chance to contest again

The senior party leaders had advised Imran Khan not to leave his Lahore seat as the margin of victory was minimal.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 31st July, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan stood victorious in all five National Assembly seats while his party has emerged as the largest political force in general elections 2018.

Imran Khan had contested from NA-53 Islamabad, NA-43 Karachi, NA-95 Mianwali, NA-35 Bannu and NA-131 Lahore.

Media reports said that Imran Khan will retain his Mianwali seat of NA-95 so by-elections will now be held at his Lahore, Islamabad, Bannu and Karachi seats.

The senior party leaders had advised Imran Khan not to leave his Lahore seat as the margin of victory was minimal. This will give a chance to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique to contest and win from NA-131.

According to the results announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan, Imran Khan had won from NA-131 Lahore by securing 84,313 votes while PMLN candidate Khawaja Saad Rafique stood second by securing 83,633 votes.

The third position was grabbed by Tahreek-i-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) candidate Syed Murtaza Hassan with 9780 votes.
