The terrorists were involved in killings of 99 persons
Rawalpindi (Pakistan Point News – 13th July, 2018) Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed the death sentences of 12 hardcore terrorists on Friday.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 12 terrorists were involved in killings of 99 people, including seven civilians and 92 armed forces personnel, while injured 58 others.
The convicts who have been awarded death sentence were tried by special military courts. Moreover, six convicts have been awarded life imprisonment, the ISPR said.
The terrorists were involved in heinous terror attacks, including attacks on Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan, destruction of educational institutions, and killing innocent civilians.
The suspects were also involved in attacking Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan prisons, resulting in the death of two police officials and four prisoners. At least 21 others were also injured in the attack.
Arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
