Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th July, 2018) Leading social media website Facebook has contacted the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make an exclusive trend for Pakistani elections.
According to sources,Facebook will also run an advertisement campaign for voters and other days. Facebook will promote the ‘8300’ service of ECP.
The Facebook management has also offered the ECP to remove fake pages of the political parties.
Responding to the offer by Facebook, the ECP said that it does not have any official page on Facebook.
Sources said that the ECP will call a meeting in this regard and will discuss the advertisement campaign on Facebook for general elections 2018.

Ahead of Pakistan's elections, Facebook has ramped up its efforts to ensure they doing everything they can to prevent abuse, working in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan to better understand and address the specific challenges faced here.
Facebook is increasing the number of people working on safety and security issues around the world to 20,000 people by the end of the year, as it employed dedicated teams working on all of the world's upcoming elections – including Pakistan – to help detect and prevent malicious actors or abuse on Facebook.
