Minor killed due to aerial firing in PMLN’s corner meeting

A corner meeting was held in Lahore in connection with the election campaign of Khawaja Saad Rafique from PP-168

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th July, 2018) A nine-year-old kid was killed due to firing in a corner meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique in Lahore on Wednesday.

According to a news report published in a local newspaper, a corner meeting was held in Lahore in connection with the election campaign of Khawaja Saad Rafique from PP-168.

The gunman of a local leader Aslam Bhatti attempted to open fire in the air when it slipped from his hand and bullets started firing in the forward direction. According to SSP Investigation Awais Malik, two minors became a victim to the firing. The nine-year-old boy was killed while 12-year-old Fahad Manzoor was injured.

Later, the police raided and arrested the key accused Ramzan aka Billa along with his two accomplices, including Shabbir and Bilal. The police also recovered their weapons.

With general elections approaching near, the political parties have geared up their political campaigns. Corner meetings and public meetings are being held in this regard while security measures are also being taken.

The general elections are due to be held on July 25.
