Petrol prices expected to be increased from July

Petrol and diesel prices are expected to be increased by Rs 3 from July 1

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 29th June, 2018) Another petrol bomb is going to be dropped on the people of Pakistan from July 1.

According to media reports, petrol and diesel prices are expected to be increased by Rs 3 from July 1.

According to experts, the petrol prices are being increased due to devaluation of Pakistani rupee against Dollar despite a decrease in prices of petroleum products in international market.

Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk-led caretaker government had decided not to hike prices of petroleum products for the month of June. However on May 30, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sent a summary to the finance minister, seeking an increase in petroleum prices. The ministry forwarded the summary to former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who did not give a response to it, leaving the matter for caretaker government.

The OGRA had proposed an increase in the price of petrol by Rs8.37 per litre and an increase of Rs12.5 per litre in diesel prices. Moreover, the authority had also recommended an increase of Rs8.30 and Rs11.65 in kerosene oil and diesel oil, respectively.
