Says one should not speak ill of someone you have spent your time with
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 29th June, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan finally responded to ex-wife Reham Khan’s allegation that women are exploited in the PTI.
The PTI chairman said that he feels sad that he trusts people in his life and believe in their goodness but he ends up disappointed. He said that he has seen so many people stooping low that it shocks him.
Imran Khan further said that those talking about exploitation of women in the party should know that I did not allot a ticket to any woman over recommendations. Nobody can say that Imran Khan allotted ticket to his relative, he added.
Regarding ex-wife Reham Khan, Imran said that I think one should not speak ill of someone you have spent your time with. I never said anything against Jemima or Reham.
Instead of denouncing Reham’s statements, I want to condemn Sharif brothers who made her write this book. He said that the Sharif brothers would have to face humiliation through Reham’s book.
Only Allah Almighty can give you honour, he added.
In an interview to an Indian tv channel, Reham said that her book has incidents of sexual coercion in Pakistani politics to get political positions and some of these are related to PTI.
Reham further said that sexual exploitation is normal in Pakistani politics. People at higher positions remain quiet despite knowing everything.
Reham said that connecting her book to political figures is an insult. Reham said that this book is not the story of a husband and wife but it is my story. She said that marriages don’t work out like people think and added that she has also written the reason of my divorce in the book.
The leaked manuscript of Reham’s book had sparked a debate on mainstream and social media because of the allegations made against Imran Khan and his close aides in the book. The book will possibly have some implications for the party during elections.
Meanwhile, the PTI members are also hitting back at Reham, claiming that she is working on PMLN’s agenda before elections.
