Anti-Narcotics Force seizes 2.5 ton drugs worth Rs9.8b, arrests 24 in countrywide operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 2.511 tons narcotics valuing 9.882 billion rupees in international, arrested 24 drugs pusher including three foreigners & three women involved in drug smuggling and impounded seven vehicles in about 15 counter-narcotics strikes across the country.

Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2018) : The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 2.511 tons narcotics valuing 9.882 billion rupees in international, arrested 24 drugs pusher including three foreigners & three women involved in drug smuggling and impounded seven vehicles in about 15 counter-narcotics strikes across the country. The seized drugs comprised of 1634.6 kilogram hashish, 589.1 kg heroin, 257.1 kg opium, 15 kg morphine, 15 kg methamphetamine and 830 grams amphetamine.

Most of the recovered drug was intended to be smuggled abroad. The ANF Quetta seized mega cache of drugs comprising 584 kg heroin, 753 kg morphine and 15 kg methamphetamine and 1400 kg hashish in two separate intelligence based operations conducted at mountainous belt general area Mashkel near Pak-Iran border, district Washuk and general area of Shadi Kor, tehsil Pasni, district Gwadar. The ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla car XLI near Tarnol Interchange Rawalpindi and arrested two persons identified as Shahkareen resident of Charsadda and Alamzaib resident of Orakzai Agency along with 240 kg opium and 108 kg hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car.

In another operation, the ANF Rawalpindi recovered 4 kg hashish from personal possession of two arrested accused, identified as Muhammad Shahzad resident of Rawalpindi and Shazia Bano resident of Waziristan Agency. In third operation, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda Civic Car near Chungi No. 26 Stop Islamabad and recovered 1.5 kg opium and 3 kg hashish. Drug was concealed in cavity created inside spare tyre in the trunk of said vehicle.

In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a Shafaat Khan resident of Upper Dir, recovering 830 Grams Amphetamine which was concealed in his travelling Bag at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad. He was travelling to Saudi Arabia by flight No. PK-270. The ANF Rawalpindi in fifth operation intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car opposite to Tandoori Restaurant G-8 Markaz Islamabad and recovered 600 grams hashish. A person on board namely Syed Fawad Hashmi was apprehended.

In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested three accused persons namely Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Iqbal and Tasweer Akhtar residents of Kotli Azad Kashmir at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad on suspicion of ingestion of narco filled capsules. 159x Heroin filled capsules weighing 1.080 Kg were recovered. They were travelling to Saudi Arabia by flight No. PK-713. The ANF Lahore arrested Amjad Hussain resident of Jhelum at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, travelling to Colombo by flight No.

UL-186 and recovered 375 grams opium. In another operation, the ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda Motorcycle and recovered 9.8 kg hashish from personal possession of the accused near NNBP Chowk, Hussaingahi, Multan. A person on board namely Salah Ud Din resident of Multan was apprehended during the operation. In third operation, the ANF Lahore arrested Nigerian National namely Chinedu Christian at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 995 grams heroin which was concealed in Towel in his trolley bag.

He was travelling to Nigeria by flight No. EY-244. In fourth operation, the ANF Lahore seized 3 kg heroin by intercepting a UK bound parcel, being sent through a courier service company. Heroin was concealed in bed sheets shipment. The ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 kg hashish from personal possession of the lady accused identity as Saiqa resident of Sawabi and Sher Zaman resident of Nowshera, travelling in a Taxi Mehran Car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.

In another operation, the ANF Peshawar intercepted a Mazda Truck near GT Road Nowshera recovered 15.6 kg opium and 80.4 kg hashish which was concealed in secret cavities of truck. Two persons on board namely Nabeel Ahmed resident of Faisalabad and Shabir Ahmed resident of Bahawalnagar were apprehended during the operation. In third operation, the ANF Peshawar recovered 2 kg heroin from personal possession two Afghan nationals namely Khayal Wali and Muhammad Jan near Karkhano Market, Peshawar.

In forth operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested Sabir Shah at Peshawar International Airport and recovered 1.5 Kg Heroin which was concealed in waist coat placed in his hand bag. He was travelling to Riyadh (KSA) by flight No. EK-637. In fifth operation, the ANF Peshawar recovered 1.2 kg hashish from personal possession of the accused namely Bilal resident of Peshawar, travelling in a passenger van near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. In sixth operation, the ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyata Corolla Car at Yarak Toll Plaza Dera Ismail Khan and recovered 4.

8 kg hashish which was concealed in the doors of the said vehicle. A person on board namely Arslan Zabihullah resident of Dera Ismail Khan was also apprehended during the operation. In seventh operation, the ANF Peshawar intercepted a Suzuki Bolan at Jahangira Chowk, Nowshera and recovered 2 kg heroin and 2 kg hashish which was concealed in secret cavities made inside pillars of the door seats of vehicle. Two persons namely Muhammad Khan resident of Nowshera and Shahzaib resident of Peshawar were apprehended during the operation.

The ANF Karachi seized 800 grams heroin by intercepting an Australia bound parcel being sent through a courier service company booked from Quetta. Heroin was soaked in towels. In another operation, the ANF Karachi intercepted 2x parcels at Cargo Complex Jinnah International Airport, Karachi booked from a courier company Karachi, being sent to UK and recovered 1.5 kg heroin & 500 grams heroin which were concealed separately in 10x pairs of Ladies Sandals and 3x pairs of ladies sandals. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
