Naima went to use restroom from her classroom but did not return and later found dead
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 10th, 2026) The local police on Friday launched an investigation afte the tragic death of a ten-year-old girl at an informal educational facility located in Ichhra’s Ittehad Colony.
The young victim, identified as Naima, had arrived at the residential tutoring facility alongside her two siblings for their daily lessons. The police said that Naima requested permission to use the restroom during class but failed to return after an extended period.
Concerned by the delay, her older sister went to check on her, only to discover Naima collapsed and unresponsive.
The sister’s immediate distress calls alerted the people standing nearby, who quickly transported the child to a local medical facility, where the doctors officially declared her dead.
According to the police, the academy is run out of a private house by two sisters, catering to roughly 15 to 20 young students from the immediate neighborhood. The people present there mentioned that the local children had frequented the facility for an extended period without any prior safety concerns or unusual events.
Following the completion of an autopsy, the girl's remains were returned to her relatives.
The initial post-mortem assessment revealed distinct ligature indentations around the victim's neck, attributing the cause of death to asphyxiation via hanging or strangulation. The doctors detected no external evidence of physical trauma or a struggle on the body.
The investigators noted that the restroom door was found unlatched during the incident. Forensic specialists have secured fingerprint samples and other physical clues from the premises for detailed laboratory scrutiny.
To aid the ongoing inquiry, the police have detained the property owner for interrogation as they work to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The grieving father, Adnan—who earns a living as a rickshaw operator—expressed utter disbelief regarding the sudden loss. "I am completely unaware of how this happened to my daughter," he stated, adding that he places his faith in God for ultimate justice.
