Five booked over alleged kidnapping, rape and extortion of two foreign women in Lahore

One of the women managed to secretly contact her father in the Netherlands, who alerted Lahore Police through the emergency helpline while police acting on the information launched an immediate operation and rescued both women within hours before arresting the main suspect and his alleged accomplices, say investigators

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 3rd, 2026) The police on Friday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, over the alleged kidnapping, rape, extortion and unlawful confinement of two foreign women in Lahore's Defence area.

The FIR mentioned the complainants are citizens of the Netherlands and Venezuela who had travelled to Pakistan after being invited by Muhammad Raza Dar.

The investigators said the suspect had reportedly established a business partnership with the women in Singapore in October 2025 and later arranged their visas for a visit to Pakistan.

Police said the two women arrived in Lahore on June 29, 2026. Shortly after their arrival, they were allegedly taken to a house in Y-Block, Defence, where they were held against their will.

The FIR said that the suspects allegedly assaulted the women, threatened them with firearms and physically abused them. The accused are also alleged to have demanded a ransom of $1.5 million, while threatening to kill the victims if their demands were not met.

According to investigators, one of the women managed to secretly contact her father in the Netherlands, who alerted Lahore Police through the emergency helpline. Acting on the information, police launched an immediate operation and rescued both women within hours before arresting the main suspect and his alleged accomplices.

Police said the case is being investigated under relevant provisions of the law and that all evidence is being collected to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry.

A senior police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the investigation was being conducted strictly on merit without any political influence. The official added that law enforcement authorities had been directed to proceed in accordance with the law and ensure that no external pressure affected the investigation.

Police also facilitated the victims in recording their statements before a magistrate as part of the legal process. As their return flights had already been scheduled, authorities requested the women to remain in Pakistan for an additional day to complete legal formalities. The expenses incurred during the extended stay were borne by the police to support the ongoing investigation.

The investigation is continuing, while police are examining all aspects of the case and gathering further evidence.
