Sialkot Stallions Rebranded as Multan Sultans Ahead of PSL 11

Franchise was originally acquired by OZ Developers for Rs185 crore for a 10-year term during the team auction in Islamabad

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-March 3rd, 2026) The Sialkot Stallions franchise joining the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 has officially been rebranded as the Multan Sultans.

The announcement was confirmed on Tuesday by PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer during a joint press conference attended by franchise owner Hamza Majeed and CD Ventures Chairman Gohar Shah.

The franchise was originally acquired by OZ Developers for Rs 185 crore for a 10-year term during the team auction in Islamabad. Under a new strategic partnership with CD Ventures, Gohar Shah has been appointed as the franchise’s Chief Executive Officer, and the team has been renamed Multan Sultans.

According to Salman Naseer, the latest development has increased the franchise’s annual value to Rs 200 crore. He added that after being appointed CEO, Gohar Shah requested the name change, which was approved.

“From now on, Sialkot Stallions will participate as Multan Sultans,” Naseer said.

In recent weeks, speculation had circulated regarding the Sialkot franchise, including claims about OZ Developers selling their shares and financial difficulties.

During the press conference, Multan Sultans CEO Gohar Shah confirmed that he has officially joined the franchise as CEO and expressed his ambition to strengthen representation for southern Punjab in the league.

He added, “A Stallion alone cannot win the PSL. To move forward, a Stallion needs a Sultan—and we have come as the Sultans. Preserving Multan’s identity in the league is very important to us.”

Pakistan Super League Season 11 is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
