LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-March 3rd, 2026) The details of the opening ceremony and inaugural match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been announced.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer revealed during a press conference held on the occasion of the ownership transfer of team Sialkot Stallions that the opening ceremony will take place on March 26 at Gaddafi Stadium.
Following the ceremony, defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Kingsmen in the tournament’s opening match.
Salman Naseer said the complete PSL schedule will be released within the next few days.
He further stated that the league’s reconnaissance team has visited Peshawar Stadium. “Certain improvements are being made, and we will make every effort to ensure that some PSL matches are held in Peshawar,” he added.
Addressing financial concerns, Naseer clarified that the OZ Group cleared all its financial matters in the second week of January, and the bank guarantee is in the PSL’s possession. “Had they been defaulters, they would not have been present alongside me at this press conference. All such claims are baseless,” he said.
He also welcomed the inclusion of young and dynamic individual Gohar Shah in the PSL setup, praising his enthusiasm and commitment.
Responding to a question about hosting the final abroad, Salman Naseer said a decision on whether one PSL match will be held overseas this year or next year will be made in the coming days.
