PBIT charts roadmap to attract strategic investment in Punjab

Session, chaired by Mr. Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf, Chairman PBIT, featured comprehensive briefings on six major investment projects spanning priority sectors including food processing, IT equipment assembly, smart furniture manufacturing, electric vehicles, jewelry processing, and aluminum production

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 6th, 2025) The Punjab board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) convened the third meeting of the Projects and business Development Committee (PBDC) to review progress on a series of high-impact development projects aimed at driving industrial growth, SME expansion, and foreign investment in Punjab.
The session, chaired by Mr. Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf, Chairman PBIT, featured comprehensive briefings on six major investment projects spanning priority sectors including food processing, IT equipment assembly, smart furniture manufacturing, electric vehicles, jewelry processing, and aluminum production.

Chairman Muntaha Ashraf reaffirmed Punjab’s readiness to attract large-scale investment in line with the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister, emphasizing that the province is fully prepared to capitalize on its comparative advantages across key industries.
He said Punjab is now investment-ready — with clear priorities, sound feasibility, and a strong institutional framework. These projects are designed to translate potential into performance and position the province as a leading contributor to Pakistan’s economic stability.

The meeting decided to finalize pre-feasibility reports of the priority projects in the coming weeks. The completed reports will be shared with banks, financial institutions, and strategic investors for consultation and collaboration, paving the way for full-scale feasibility and implementation phases.
Chairman Muntaha Ashraf further directed all relevant departments to accelerate project planning and execution, underscoring that timely delivery of investment-ready initiatives is central to Punjab’s economic revival strategy.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to industrial value addition and SME development, Mr. Ashraf highlighted that PBIT’s proactive investment drive will play a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and fostering sustainable growth across Punjab.
