Finance Minister says Pakistan’s economy is improving and the blue economy will drive future economic progress.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Nov,4 , 2025) Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan’s economy is moving in the right direction and that the blue economy will prove to be a game changer for the country’s financial future.
Addressing the Pakistan International Maritime Expo 2025 virtually, the minister stated that solid economic measures have been taken over the past two and a half years, earning praise from three global rating agencies.
He noted that Pakistan’s economic stability is supported by strong cooperation from friendly countries and emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing Karachi, Gwadar, and Port Qasim to strengthen maritime trade.
Aurangzeb highlighted that the blue economy offers vast opportunities for investment and growth, adding that the maritime conference aims to attract foreign investors. “The blue economy can significantly contribute to achieving Pakistan’s future economic goals,” he said, assuring that related policy issues will be addressed.
The finance minister further stated that although recent floods temporarily affected the economy, leading global financial institutions have acknowledged Pakistan’s improving economic trajectory.
