Pakistan-Poland trade reaches $1 billion

Deputy PM Ishaq Dar said Pakistan and Poland agreed to expand cooperation in multiple sectors as bilateral trade hit $1 billion.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,23, 2025) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced that trade between Pakistan and Poland has reached the $1 billion mark, with both countries agreeing to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.

Dar made the remarks during a joint press conference with the Polish Foreign Minister in Islamabad. Welcoming his counterpart, he noted that the Polish minister last visited Pakistan in 2011 and highlighted the historic ties between the two nations, recalling that Polish citizens had lived in Quetta and Karachi during World War II.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that Poland has now become a trillion-dollar economy, and both sides discussed memorandums of understanding between Pakistan’s ISI and Polish institutes. He added that Pakistan had expressed concerns over recent militant attacks by extremist elements.

Dar emphasized the importance of collaboration between think tanks of both countries and said discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation in the mining and construction sectors.

The Polish Foreign Minister said around 2,000 Pakistanis currently reside in Poland, and Polish universities are gaining popularity among Pakistani students. He noted that Poland has strict laws against illegal migration and has turned its borders into some of the most secure in the European Union.

He added that migrants are urged not to attempt border crossings during winter and accused Russia of destabilizing Europe. He also stated that Poland is playing an active role in promoting peace in Gaza and is close to formally recognizing the State of Palestine.
