Wedding videographer Vishal Punjabi has revealed that Virat and Anushka’s 2017 Italy wedding almost got cancelled due to heavy rain, forcing planners to shift the entire venue overnight.

According to their wedding videographer, Vishal Punjabi, the entire wedding setup was destroyed by heavy rain just a night before the ceremony. The planning team had to move the venue overnight to save the event.
In a recent interview, Punjabi disclosed, “The whole mandap we had built was ruined by rain the night before the wedding. Wedding planner Devika Narain stayed awake all night and managed to relocate and rebuild everything by morning.”
Despite the chaos, Virat and Anushka remained calm and trusting of their team. Remarkably, the couple never saw the mandap before the ceremony, showing their complete confidence in their planners.
Punjabi added, “When I arrived on the wedding day, neither Virat nor Anushka knew me or my work, but they welcomed me warmly, saying, ‘We don’t know what you do, but if you’re here, you must be good at it.’”
Calling the experience unforgettable, he said, “It was a small, intimate ceremony, and both were genuinely kind and trusting people who gave us full creative freedom.”
