Indian actor Rajpal Yadav was sent to Tihar Jail after surrendering in multiple cheque dishonour cases, with reports saying he expressed financial distress in a statement before his arrest.
NEW DELHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb-11, 2026) Actor Rajpal Yadav has surrendered to authorities and been sent to Tihar Jail in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases.
According to reports by Times of India, Yadav voluntarily appeared before the police but recorded an official statement prior to his surrender. In the statement, he expressed his financial struggles, saying, “What can I do? I have no money, and no solution seems visible. We are all alone here, no friends or relatives, I have to face this hardship on my own.”
The Delhi High Court had revoked the leniency previously granted to Yadav in several cheque dishonour cases and directed him to surrender before the relevant jail superintendent by February 4.
Media reports also note that Yadav’s lawyer requested an extension to pay ₹50 lakh, seeking an additional week, but the court rejected the plea. Following the court’s deadline, the actor was taken into custody at Tihar Jail.
