PESHAWAR, (Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Hayatabad United and Hamza Club secured victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Dr. Shoukat Challenge Football Cup being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Complex on Monday. Principal National Institution of Basic Sciences Fawad Khan was the chief guest on this occasion. Organizing Secretary Dr. Shoukat, Veteran Footballer Saleem Khan, officials, players and spectators were also present.
Hayatabad United and University of Peshawar played excellent display of short-passes with Hayatabad United played attacking game. The two teams shattered each other defence but none of the team could be able to score any goal in the first session. After a goal-less first-half draw, the two teams gripped up for the second session with Hayatabad United took the lead in the 67th minute through Imtiaz on the field attempt. Thus Hayatabad United marched up to victory.
In the second match Humza Club recorded 2-0 victory against Zalmay Club Peshawar. Humza Club Landikotel front line played attacking game by making incisive rallies which were largely enjoyed by capacity crowd present on this occasion. Humza Club took the lead in through right winger Fawad Khan on the field attempt in the 18th minute. On the other hand Zalmy Peshawar after conceding goal tried their hard to level the tally but failed to do so due to poor finishing.
It was in the 34th minute when Sajjad Khan got free kick from the top of the box but Humza Club goal-keeper intercepted it nicely while diving to left. At half-time, Humza Club made incisive rallies of attack as a result it was in the 59th minute when Israr slammed in a beautiful goal to make the tally 2-0. Thus Humza Club Landikotal, Khyber Agency won the match by 2-0. Anwar Khan, Ikram and Abid Afridi supervised the match.
