MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2021) UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson boasts such robust offshore wind production in the United Kingdom enough for him to change his name to "Boreas" in honor of the Greek mythological god of north wind and winter.
"We have put in great forests of beautiful wind turbines on the drowned prairies of Doggerland beneath the North Sea. In fact we produce so much offshore wind that I am thinking of changing my name to Boreas Johnson in honour of the North Wind," Johnson said in an address to the UN General Assembly in New York.
The international community must immediately step up efforts against climate change, given global temperature hikes and subsequent warming, the prime minister said, warning that by the end of the century the temperatures will rise by at least 2.7 degrees Celsius (36.86 degrees Fahrenheit).
Johnson said the upcoming 26th UN Climate Change Conference, due to be held in Glasgow from October 31-November 12, will be "the turning point for humanity" in terms of boosting cooperation and making relevant commitments to tackle climate change.
