KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2021) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a list of Ukrainian citizens held in Russia and militia-controlled territories to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson during their meeting in New York on Thursday.
"The Head of State handed over to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom a list of almost 450 Ukrainians who are illegally detained in temporarily uncontrolled territories and in the Russian Federation," the Ukrainian Presidency said.
Zelenskyy thanked Johnson for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. They agreed that the UK would help Ukraine bolster its defenses and the Ukrainian fleet.
The leaders also gauged progress in implementing the 2020 UK-Ukraine political, free trade and strategic partnership agreement. Trade is said to have increased by more than 70% in the first half of 2021.
