MEXICO CITY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo have sent Russian leader Vladimir Putin a letter of congratulations on the victory of the United Russia ruling party in the elections to the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament.
"The elections of lawmakers of the Russian State Duma ended successfully, with the triumph of the United Russia party, your government and your people," according to the letter published by 19 Digital.
According to the Nicaraguan leaders, the victory of the Russian ruling party in the parliamentary elections will contribute to the development of the country and its success in the struggle for peace, progress in the economy, science, technology and culture.
The elections to the State Duma were held on September 17-19. The voting results can be finalized on Friday, Central Election Commission (CEC) head Ella Pamfilova said earlier.
According to the CEC official data, United Russia received 324 mandates, the Communist Party - 57, A Just Russia - For Truth - 27, the Liberal Democratic Party - 21, and New People - 13.
