Abha, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 23 يوليو 2026ء) The center welcomes guests through qualified male and female cultural guides who accompany visitors from the outset on a rich, engaging cultural experience. The presentation methods include graphic panels, television films, models, archaeological artifacts, and collections, as well as information provided by guides to answer visitors' questions and deepen their understanding of the site.
Visitors proceed through six successive information stations at the center, beginning with an introduction to Ahad Rufaidah Governorate and its geography, followed by the history of the Ancient Jorash archaeological site, which dates back to the first millennium BC. This station highlights Jorash as a city of major importance that continued to thrive through the early Islamic periods.
The stations then feature a short television film introducing the archaeological site and the ancient city of Jorash, showcasing its history, civilization, key features, and major archaeological discoveries.
Another visual presentation explains the cultural significance of Jorash, which occupied a distinctive location along the Incense Route and the ancient trade route extending from northern to southern Arabian Peninsula, making it a point of contact between local inhabitants and passing caravans.
At the archaeological finds station, visitors can view a collection of artifacts unearthed at the site, including metal, glass, pottery, and stone. Some of these pieces are displayed in glass cases, allowing visitors to examine them up close.
The information on display indicates that the people of Jorash benefited from the abundance of rocks in their environment, using them as a Primary building material for their city and also to make millstones, vessels, saddles, and household tools.
Excavations have uncovered glassware in various colors and have revealed significant advances in metalworking, including coins, jewelry, and metal vessels.
