Jeddah, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 23 يوليو 2026ء) The event welcomed fighters on the bout card, guests, and media representatives in a festive atmosphere, with the boxers making their entrances to their signature walk-on music before stepping into the ring.
Former British heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga headlined the event as anticipation built for their main-event clash, a contest between two of the division's most powerful punchers. Joshua holds a professional record of 29 wins, including 26 by knockout, while Prenga has recorded 20 victories, all by knockout.
Joshua and Prenga first came face to face two days earlier aboard a yacht at the Jeddah Yacht Club, marking their first public appearance during fight week and kicking off the event's media activities before joining the rest of the fighters at Wednesday’s Grand Arrivals Launch Party.
The event features 13 bouts, including two world title fights and three contests featuring Saudi boxers. Mohammed Alakel will face Malta's Lydon Chircop, Ziyad Al-Maayouf will take on Mexico's Frank Mango, and Sultan Almohamed will meet Spain's Efren Besalduch.
The card will also feature Britain's Hamzah Sheeraz defending his WBO Super Middleweight title against Germany's Simon Zachenhuber, while Britain's Josh Kelly will put his IBF Welterweight title on the line against Ireland's Caoimhin Agyarko.
The fight card also includes several international bouts and Arab contenders, led by Egypt's Omar Hikal, who will face Spain's Brian Castellano, and Mohamed Mabrouk, who is set to take on Colombia's Bryan Zapata, both of whom built on standout performances at the Glory in Giza event in May.
The week's events will continue on Thursday evening with the official press conference for all participating boxers at Jeddah Promenade at 9 p.m., where they will meet the media and discuss their preparations ahead of their highly anticipated bouts.
