Riyadh, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 22 يوليو 2026ء) The Roads General Authority noted that the road sector is one of the vital sectors that enables many other sectors, including tourism. The authority pointed out that Madinah Region has an advanced road network extending for more than 8,184 kilometers, serving as a vital artery that enhances the region's position as one of the Kingdom's most prominent religious and tourist destinations.
The authority said AlUla Governorate, one of the region's most important tourist destinations, can be reached by road from Riyadh via two different routes.
The first, faster route starts in Riyadh, passes through Qassim and Hail, and covers approximately 1,040 kilometers, taking about 11 hours.
The second route passes through Qassim and Madinah, covering approximately 1,163 kilometers, with the journey taking about 11 hours and 35 minutes.
AlUla enjoys a strategic location in the northwestern part of the Kingdom, 300 kilometers from Madinah. Its climate is continental, with high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter.
AlUla features a lush oasis known since ancient times for its agricultural wealth. It is renowned for growing citrus fruits irrigated by fresh water across an area extending 20 kilometers. The oasis has approximately 200,000 citrus trees representing 29 varieties.
