Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Arabic Language Program in Central Asia, Caucasus Wraps Up After Training More Than 200 Teachers

Baku, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 25 يونيو 2026ء) A closing ceremony was held at the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, Azerbaijan, attended by Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan Essam Al-Jutaili, officials from the foundation and ICESCO, ambassadors of beneficiary countries, as well as academics and specialists in Arabic language education.

Director General of the foundation Saleh Al-Khulaifi said the program reflects a civilizational and humanitarian mission. It highlights the importance of Arabic as a language of knowledge, communication, and culture, and as a bridge that fosters closer ties among peoples and promotes understanding between nations.

Al-Khulaifi emphasized that Saudi Arabia has given significant attention to the Arabic language because of its cultural and historical importance, noting that this commitment has been reflected in support for qualitative initiatives aimed at promoting Arabic globally.

Director of the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku Dr. Abdulhakeem Al-Senan praised the program's tangible academic and cultural achievements in the beneficiary countries. He also commended the partnership between the foundation and ICESCO in implementing initiatives that support the Arabic language and strengthen its international presence.

The program covered Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Bashkortostan. It included a series of training courses and specialized workshops targeting Arabic language teachers, academics, and others interested in Arabic-language education.

The activities focused on developing language and teaching skills, educational content design, modern teaching applications, interactive learning strategies, and the use of digital technologies in language instruction.

More than 200 teachers and specialists in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers benefited from the program. Participants represented universities, educational institutions, and academic centers across the participating countries.

The initiative was built around an integrated framework of training and skill-development tracks aimed at enhancing the competencies of Arabic language teachers.
