Jeddah, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 26 يونيو 2026ء) Formula E will head to the middle East on December 18-19, 2026, for an unprecedented milestone in the 2026/2027 season. For the first time, the global ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Calendar will begin at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit with rounds one and two, featuring distinctive night races in a country that has developed a strong relationship with the championship.
Hosting the season opener at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit reflects the Kingdom's growing role in shaping the future of electric motorsport. With its unique location on the Red Sea coast, high-speed corners, and exceptional fan atmosphere, the circuit is preparing to host new challenges and innovative competition while delivering a remarkable start to the season under the lights.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Saudi automobile and Motorcycle Federation and Saudi Motorsport Company Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdullah bin Faisal said: "We are delighted to welcome the return of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, which will host the opening rounds of the season for the first time. Since its debut in Saudi Arabia, Formula E has become an important part of the Kingdom's motorsport journey, bringing together innovation, sustainability, and world-class racing."
He stressed that the season will also mark an exciting new chapter with the introduction of the all-new GEN4 race car, which represents the next step in electric racing and clearly demonstrates the rapid evolution of the sport in terms of performance and technology.
Formula E Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo said: "The Jeddah Corniche Circuit delivers unrivaled high-speed street racing, and I have no doubt it will provide an exciting season opener with the competitive debut of both the GEN4 cars and the new Evo Sessions race format."
