The Kings Mountain facility represents a cornerstone of North America's critical minerals strategy, with planned production capacity sufficient to power over 1.2 million EVs annually by 2030.
The discussions emphasized enhancing bilateral cooperation in lithium extraction from unconventional resources to support the growing global demand for EV components. Both parties explored frameworks for technology transfer, joint venture development, and knowledge-sharing programs that align with Saudi Arabia's strategic interests in securing its position within the global battery value chain.
The minister was accompanied by National Industrial Development Center Chief Executive Officer Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, alongside senior representatives from the Kingdom's industry and mineral resources ecosystem. The delegation examined potential applications of Albemarle's technologies within Saudi Arabia's mineral development strategy, particularly in support of the Kingdom's automotive transformation goals and industrial diversification under Vision 2030.
