Saudi Health Minister Concludes Official Visit to New Zealand

Auckland, August (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 23 أغسطس 2025ء) AlJalajel held talks with New Zealand’s Minister of Mental Health Matt Doocey, the first to hold this portfolio, and discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as mental health, digital health solutions, and healthcare workforce development. The accompanying Saudi delegation also met with leaders from New Zealand’s Public Health Agency.

Discussions highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in developing digital mental health programs, which have served millions of beneficiaries, as well as the integration of Saudi Arabia’s Seha Virtual Hospital, the largest of its kind globally, with New Zealand’s telemedicine system. Both sides also explored ways to develop patient-centered healthcare models, integrate evidence-based traditional practices, and enhance the efficiency of health systems through the exchange of expertise.

The visit forms part of Saudi Arabia’s wider strategy to expand international health partnerships under Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at advancing healthcare innovation and improving public health outcomes globally.

AlJalajel’s trip followed his official visit to Australia earlier this week, further strengthening cooperation between the middle East and Oceania in health innovation and knowledge exchange.
