The latest reports say that the incident took place on Karakoram Highway of Chilas, Gilgit-Baltistan when the driver lost control while navigating a sharp turn that resulted in the fatal plunge.

The TV reports say that Karakoram Highway is closed at Tatta Pani, Lal Pari area and vehicles have been stopped at Zero Point and Gonar Farm.

The CTD officials were conducting search operation  in the area when they were targeted.

Criticism has surfaced a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan kicked off mega construction work on the Diamer-Bhasha dam.

The Prime Minister said Diamer Bhasha Dam will be the third largest dam of the country. He said it was envisaged 40 years ago, but work on the project is being started today.
