KPK decides to  undergoe legislation to stop child abuse

Kyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has decided to undergo forthwith legislation in order to stop child abuse.A special committee of 13 members has been formed under the aegis of Speaker Assembly KPK Mushtaq Ghani

Peshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 23rd January, 2020) Kyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has decided to undergo forthwith legislation in order to stop child abuse.A special committee of 13 members has been formed under the aegis of Speaker Assembly KPK Mushtaq Ghani. The committee comprises ministers, provincial government and opposition members.According to the declaration, the committee would review the incumbent laws and propose stern measures against child abuse.

The committee would help speed up the hearings and request the authorities for speedy deliverance of justice.Committee would submit its report to Assembly in one month.The committee would also do consultations with clerics, lawyers and psychologists.According to Child Rights Movement, 1300 cases of sexual abuse with children were reported in first 6 months of 2019 whereas it was more than 2300 during the same period of 2018.According to the reports, 3800 cases of child abuse had been reported last year.
