MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2019) Russia's exclave of Kaliningrad is protected from any aggressive plans, the Russian Defense Ministry said commenting on reports of the Pentagon working on a plan for breaching the region's air defense if needed.
The Pentagon has developed a plan of defeating the air defense system of the Russian westernmost exclave in case of need, Commander of the US Air Forces in Europe and Africa, Gen. Jeffrey Lee Harrigian said, as cited by the breaking Defense media outlet.
"Russia's Kaliningrad region is fully protected against any aggressive 'plans' developed by US generals passing through Europe" the ministry said.
"The capabilities of the air defense in the Kaliningrad region on detection, escort and, if needed, guaranteed neutralization of any airborne targets in its coverage zone, are well known to all NATO pilots that have ever approached Russia's borders in the Baltics," the ministry's statement read.
