BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2019) The positions of parties to the trilateral consultations over post-2019 transit of Russian gas through Ukraine concurred on most of the issues discussed, Maros Sefcovic, the vice president of the European Commission in charge of the Energy Union, said on Thursday.
Talks between the European Union, Russia and Ukraine were held under Sefcovic's chairmanship in the Belgian capital city of Brussels earlier in the day. Russia was represented by Energy Minister Alexander Novak, while Ukraine was represented by Energy Minister Oleksiy Orzhel.
"I believe that today we have taken steps in the right direction, in other words, there was convergence of the positions on most of the issues we discussed," Sefcovic said following talks.
