NUR-SULTAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th June, 2019) SULTAN, June 9 (Sputnik) - Acting Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is on track to win the country's snap presidential election, gaining 70.13 percent of votes, according to an exit poll by the Public Opinion Research Institute.
"Candidate Tokayev is gaining 70.13 percent," Ainur Mazhitova, the chairman of the institute's council, said at a briefing.
She added that opposition candidate and journalist Amirjan Qosanov is on course to get 15.39 percent.
An exit poll by the Scientific Research Center Youth, meanwhile, said that Tokayev had gained 69.94 percent.
