Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that Pakistan Railways has earned the revenue of almost Rs one billion by conveying about two million passengers to thier destinations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar this year
Lahore, (Pakistan Point News / Online - 08th June, 2019) : Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that Pakistan Railways has earned the revenue of almost Rs one billion by conveying about two million passengers to thier destinations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar this year.He was addressing a press conference at the headquarters of Pakistan Railways on Saturday.He said that railway has oil reserves for almost five days and there is no shortage of fuel in the department.
"We did not buy any new train but got repaired the old ones as we managed to continue operation of Pakistan Railways within limited resources successfully ", he added.He said that he gave suggestion to PM as well as Advisor on Finance for raising the salary of government servants in common and especially railway's employees in the upcoming budget.He said that he had made promise to the people to reduce the fiscal deficit of railways when he took oath of minister, and on 28th August when he will complete one year in the office, he would present detailed report to the public showing his performance regarding his pledge.
He said that he has directed high ups of railways to diminish the deficit of the organization further and to take effective measures to prevent the incidents of derailment of the trains.He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is striving hard for bringing economy of the country on the right path and he had to take some hard and harsh decisions, which seem bitter at the moment but they would have far reaching effects."God has given an honest man in the shape of Imran Khan to the nation , but it is the matter of great melancholy that the whole corrupt mafia has made an unholy alliance against him just to save their plundered money", he added.
The minister , while replying a question said that no stone would be left unturned for not increasing the rail fares any more so that passengers of economy class might not be suffered.He said that government committed a mistake by making Shahbaz Sharif as a opposition leader because during his tenure as Chairman Public Accounts Committee ,the performance of PAC fell down to zero level. The politics of both brothers i.e. Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif is quite different from one another , though Nawaz Sharif got some advantages from the decisions made by Shahbaz Sharif in the past.
He said protest is the democratic right of the opposition, but Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari will never come into power again."On completion of ML-1 and Nulla Lai Express way projects I would be retired from the electoral politics . I remained seven times on the slot of minister and I am no more candidate for PM's seat", he added.He paid rich tributes to the martyr of armed forces of Pakistan by saying that he present salute of honor to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism . The entire country is standing shoulder to shoulder with the Pak Armed Forces.
