BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th June, 2019) European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is set to hold a meeting on Tuesday with senior US presidential adviser Jared Kushner to address the latest developments in the middle East, as well as other topics, Mina Andreeva, a spokeswoman for the EU body, said.
"Late afternoon today the president will meet Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the president of the United States, Donald Trump. They will discuss the Middle East situation and other geopolitical issues," Andreeva told a briefing, as broadcast by the audiovisual service of the European Commission.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini is expected to attend the meeting as well, the spokeswoman added.
Last week Kushner led a delegation across the Middle East and North Africa to drum up support for the US long-promised peace plan on the Israeli-Palestinian settlement. The United States is expected to reveal the details of the plan at the conference, which is scheduled to take place in Manama from June 25-26. Palestine has already boycotted the event and urged regional powers to reject any deal that runs counter to UN resolutions.
